Mid King Biv

A small 2-bunk biv in the beech basin at the head of Baldy Creek, just south of Mid King Peak in the Tararua Ranges. A good sheltered spot about 300m below Mid King Peak, and 100m off the ridgeline leading down to the confluence of Sth Mitre and Baldy Creeks near Mitre Flats Hut. A marked track leads from the fore-mentioned ridgeline to the hut (think triangles) but other than that travel from Mid King Peak or Mitre Flats is on an easy but unmarked ridgeline route.
