  • pmcke pmcke It's not the sort of place you would expect for a summit. More of a plateau than a peak. It was all fog and snow when we were there. If I were a member of the Heretaunga Tramping Club I think I would want to see the memorial fixed up a bit. It is an enormous cairn of loose stones and the plaque is attached a chicken wire framework buried in it. The cairn is obviously the work of many people adding their own stone and should remain but I think the plaque could be mounted a little better beside it.
