Top Maropea Hut

Lovely old NZFS hut built for deer cullers in the 60s or 70s, it has been repainted, however remains cold and drafty with wet firewood in the colder months of the year. Thank DOC for warm huts as these ones are extremely drafty and cold in a westerly.

  • www.freewebs.com/hellmission/ www.freewebs.com/hellmission/ I would rather stay in a four bunker like this one (built 1958). Dry firewood can be found in plentiful supply at these NZFS huts as they have been sited close to wood. Built to last and for functionality, no flash big cold bunk rooms! This hut is better to stay at than Sunrise Hut.
