A 6 hour walk one way to Kiwi Saddle Hut above the Wangapeka River. A reasonably easy walk with 3 hours along the Wangapeka Track then a 3 hour sidle up the bush clad slopes of Mt Patriarch to Kiwi Saddle Hut.
