The DOC shelter on Little Mt.Peel
Situated to provide magnificent views of the Canterbury Plains, Little Mt.Peel is a worthwhile destination suitable for almost anyone. Only a few hours to ascend and with limited exposure, it would whet any appetite to stray further afield.

Honora Be warned. It's a shelter with no mattresses (thanks DoC!) and no heating. I stayed in it one rainy night, wet as a shag. Not good memories. Be a nice spot for lunch though.
