Wildflowers in Whirinaki Forest, NZ

Are these lovely wildflowers named Pink Heath? The photograph was taken on the first day of the four-day loop with Mangamate Hut (night one), Upper Whirinaki Hut(night two) and Central W.(night three)via Caves. Water level of Taumutu Stream and Upper Whirinaki River was not high early Febuary. Could walk in and out and wade. I also saw a few whios (spelling? blue ducks) in the river.

Comments

  • matthew matthew Common foxglove. Heath has a similar flower shape but much smaller -- 2-3mm long. Whio is correct as the plural -- Maori words are not pluralised with an "s". :-)
