Fantail Bay is an idyllic camping area on the west coast near the tip of Coromandel Peninsula. There is a stony beach suitable for swimming, toilets and water, with large pohutukawa trees providing shade.
A vehicle track leaves through a gate on the right and climbs the grassy hillside. Disappointingly, it stops at the edge of the forest where the Coromandel Forest Park begins, but it provides good views along the coast.
