Te Whara to Ocean Beach via Peach Cove

This track starts from Urquarts bay on Whangarei Heads with initially easy travel across farmland before climbing steeply to around 400m and then follows the ridge with some more short steep sections that can get a bit slippery after rain. About an hour after reaching the ridge there is a junction to Peach Cove Hut which is reached by descending a very steep track for about 20 minutes. The Hut is located about 2 mins from a great beach with good snorkling and fishing if your that way inclined. After retracing your steps to the ridge the track continues East for about another 2 hrs and has some spectacular views along the way to Ocean Beach. Take the time to go to the lookout if the weather is clear.
