Very nice hut just new. Guy there caught a big trout and some guys also got 2 deer choice !!!! you Turn off at Eketahuna and head up road into Tararuas past Putara to roadend.

Head along track, cross a couple of swingbridges and up the hill. (Steepish at first, but eases off after climbing a couple of hundred metres.) Turn left at the top and down the ridge, eventually dropping down to river flat and the Lodge by the river.

Normally 3-4 hours walking if I recall. well worth the journey !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
