Leaving from the bridge carpark (best to leave car on the road, than tucked away), this is a fantastic track for newcomers to tramping. The track follows grass tracks, coastal bush and beach, leading you up a cliff to the most amazing view. There's native spinach along the way too. You may decide that's enough, or keep heading around.

It goes all the way up to Goldie's Bush Walkway (see Dan's entry) which is about 9km, but you can turn around at any point really so one-track-fits-all.
You can play spot the gannet along the way - they're heading back up to Muriwai rocks not far up the coast.
Don't forget your togs for on the way back :-)
