One of the natives(kiwi)

Kiwi can be seen, commonly,by day, consequence of a lack of predators.Imagine my surprise, when emerging from our tent site in the manuka scrub,to be informed by a friendly pair of Americans, that there were kiwi foraging on the track ahead.Very busy he was, probing for bugs with that long beak.Uniquely, the kiwi is the only bird with their nostrills at the tip of the beak.
