Jamieson Saddle

Jamieson Saddle

Jamieson Saddle, from the Birch Hill / Mt Cook Village side. This is an alpine route from Mt Cook Village into the upper Dobson. The route is mostly free of snow and ice in mid-late summer. It's a long, hard (1500m vertical) ascent, but technically not too challenging, being on mostly stable scree and grass. Readon Hut provides accomodation on the Dobson side.
