Plata Col from Balaclava Saddle. Balaclava saddle is a good route from the Havelock into the McCauley. To the south, two options exist: decending NE Gorge Creek to reach the lower McCauley and roadend, or sidling to Plata Col and descending Tomms Stream to the new McCauley Lodge
