Youngman Stream Hut to Tarn Hut

This poled route between huts provides the opportunity to make a loop out of the Youngman Stream and Tarn Huts.This route is partly over private land. 

The route starts near Youngman Stream Hut on the far side of the river at a marked turnoff from Youngman Stream Track. The track heads uphill through forest, into low beech forest and out into herbfield. The trail is faint underfoot but it is clearly marked with poles. The last hundred metres climb is over tussock, leading to the summit of Lilburne Hill (1405m) before dropping easily over herbfield to Tarn Hut.
