• glennj Yep those Hoki gorges are spectacular. Way back in the 1800's gold prospectors ventured in to this remote and difficult country and there is still the odd relic about. I've seen the occasional shaft on the terraces above the river. Unfortunately stoats have colonised the area. I saw one out on that rock bench one day!
