There are several approaches to the Lake Morgan. This is a route from the north and that is partly marked on a topographic map. The Haupiri river is down to the far right. The Brian O'Lyn route rises from the river to the tops at appx 1030m. The highest points along the tops are 1218m and 1251m. It is practical to visit a tarn for water at 1153m from a low point of appx 1200m on the tops and continue to the northernmost saddle on the land bridge to Mt.O'Shanessy 1462m.
