Walked up from Te Awa Awa Reserve & camped on a knob about 15 minutes from Scotts Saddle.Hour and a bit,ideal weather,just used bivvy bag but a sleeping bag in the tussock would`ave done.I cleared the fluffy stuff from the track up to the bush edge(where there`s a seat) and good views over the Plains,Methven,Hutt,Mt Bruce etc for minimal effort.And only 15minutes by vehicle from home.
