Mt Greenland Hut

Mt Greenland Hut

This four bunk hut was built by a mineral prospecting outfit circa 1980. (Consolidated Traders, Mining Division) Around 2001 it was turned over for public use. In recent years the SINDA 4 x 4 club have given the place some TLC. It has a stove with a wetback, sink and running water and is generally well appointed.

Access is usually from Ross via what was once a miners pack track and then a road. These days apart from the first couple of Km's it is difficult four wheeled driving or motorcross bike access to get to the hut this way. Walking from Ross over Mt Greenland via the 4 x 4 road takes less than half a day one way.

For the more adventurous there are multiple access options from the Mikonui and Totara River catchments via untracked bush ridges and overgrown miners tracks.
