Quarry Trail, Kennedys Bush

The Quarry Trail is a short walk in Kennedys Bush, off Christchurch's Summit Road. Parking is available at the Sign of the Bellbird shelter, where toilets are also located. 

The Quarry Trail is walked in combination with the Orongomai Trail. From the shelter, take the marked track down and to the right, into forest. The track leads off at the second switchback. A sign marks the corner. Follow the gentle descent of the trail past the Fantail side track and then up through an old quarry. This is a damp, green, and rather beautiful spot. Follow the Orongomai Trail back up to the shelter.
