Eastside Bush Track

From Victoria Park, this track leads up the grassy Bowenvale Valley, connecting up with the Bowenvale Track near the head of the valley. An alternative exit comes out on the lower Bowenvale Track, so a loop from Victoria Park would be possible, with a total walking time of 1 hour.

Follow the sign near the end of the car park. Eastside Bush Track leads off down stone steps through mixed forest. After a few minutes, it meets a vehicle track and follows that left (downhill) for about 80m, before dropping off to the right down more steps. Sidling under pines, the track passes the lower Bowenvale exit and crosses a mountain bike track. From here, the track leads up the Bowenvale Valley through kānuka and gorse scrub, then over grass. The track follows a mountain bike track briefly before bending off to the left. Soon after, the track meets the main track up the valley floor.
