Our wee group had left Upper Travers Hut after reading route notes & studying the two options from below but we chose the wrong way.While we topped the St Arnaud Range,we were too far towards Kehu Peak.Concerningly,we either had a parachute jump into the abyss,or retrace our route or send Danny off along the ridge to see if we could descend to the saddle proper.He returned soon after this pic was taken with news of a shute down to the scree below.Fairly focused,we crabbed our way down to reasonable scree ,lunch & a massive boulder field,before good bush travel down to the confluence of the Begley Streams & a track up to Begley Hut.But not before Verity had been zapped by several wasps & a bit of a mild bush bash.
