Some really interesting terrain 20 minutes from WoolshedCreek Hut,on Mt Somers.Each year since 1976,Methven Lions have sponsored a student exchange,4 per year,between Ruawai near Dargaville and Methven.Our job is to amuse them with a brief overnighter & generally wear them out,feed them & bring them back alive to their billets for another SI experience.Going off track here opens up some thrilling vistas which 99% of other trampers all rush past.
