Gunns Bush
- 1 hr – 1 hr 40 min return by the same track
- Easy
An easy track where a thick bed of moss grows underfoot.
This track begins along the valley floor as you walk past large fuchsia trees over a bed of moss. You come to a small clearing where one of the few remaining Matai trees in the area can be seen on your left.
Shortly after this the track splits in two and you can go either way and you will end up at the same spot as it forms a loop. The uphill track here climbs steadily as it winds around the hillside crossing the odd creek before descending to the valley floor.
An unsignposted unkept but fairly clear 10(ish)m track heads up to the left to a clearing allowing some nice views down the valley just be carefull as many hunters tracks also head off this track. The track to the clearing heads off shortly before descending if you have gone uphill first.
Once back on the valley floor the track follows the creek and few wooden bridges are crossed before returning to the split. Return via same track.
