This short walk is located in a quiet corner of the Waitakere Ranges. Take the sea-washed Whatipu Road through the township of Little Huia, and turn off onto the shingle Donald McLean Road. The road makes it almost to the summit, leaving you to walk the last few hundred metres.

An easy track spirals up through forest and scrub to a trig marker and viewing platform. Good views of the rolling ranges, Whatipu Beach, and South Head over the other side of the Manukau Entrance.
