• Hugh vN in the first few years I lost a couple of knives and countless lighters. Since tying them together - 25 years on that merc and probably less than 3 lighters. But they were only added to the photo for fun (and scale) - the beacon looked a little lonely by itself. Unlike the other items, the PLB has never been used.

• glennj My beacon is an ACR but I have similar compass, mercator knife and lighter amongst my regular kit. (my mercator has lost all its black paint though) Thankfully I've never had to activate a beacon.
