Ahuriri Conservation Park

This park was established following the purchase of Birchwood Station in 2004. It is centred around the Ahuriri Valley and occupies much of the land between Lakes Hawea and Ohau.

To reach the Ahuriri Valley, turn off SH8 17km west of Omarama at Birchwood Road. The park is reached after 21km and it continues a further 10km.

From here there is access to the upper Ahuriri as well as the Dingle Burn and Snowy Gorge Creek. Routes lead into the South Huxley and South Temple valleys.
