Boat transport is available across Lake Te Anau and optionally across Lake Hankinson near the track's start.
Summary
A brief track crosses from the North West Arm to Lake Hankinson, where a DOC boat shed is situated. No track leads around the lake, but dinghies are available if not already in use. From the lake-head hut, the track climbs past Lake Thomson and a second hut to Henry Pass. From there it drops past Lake Katherine to the hut at George Sound. Side tracks from Thomson Hut lead to nearby tops, and an abandoned mica mine.
