To the left is Mount Potts (2184m) and the plateau of the Dogs Range.

To the right, Paddle Hill Creek is in the foreground with the South Branch of the Ashburton River / Hakatere beyond. The Marquee (2421m) is the peak overlooking that valley.

The jagged peaks in the centre distance are Arrowsmith (2781m) to the left, and Tower, Upham, and indeed Jagged Peaks (2706m) to the right. In front of all that is the Big Hill Range.

The Te Araroa Trail passes by from right to left in the old glacial channel marked by cliffs at the foot of the Dogs Range.
