The track linking the Mangatutara and Waihunga valleys in the Raukumaras does not exist. Instead you crawl / bash / squirm your way through windfall and tangled vegetation up this unnamed stream on the Mangatutara side, and drop into the bluffy head of the Waihunga. Once in the Waihunga going is quite good.

Note that neither Mangatutara Hut nor Te Kahika Huts exist.
