Community values review

Hi everybody, The community values page has been in place for about a month now, and I am interested in your thoughts. This page helps to outline in broad sweeps what constitutes acceptable content and behaviour. More than that, it helps set the direction and priorities of the site. Also, I want to use the document to reduce the number of explicit rules. My preference is for values over rules. It is actually very hard to moderate forum content with rules without having an ever-growing list of rules and creating a tone of officiousness. Of course the values apply across the entire site, not just forums. @madpom pointed out that one excluded value of "fostering participation in tramping, inform & encourage, nurture growth of experience and confidence in others." Nicely worded in, and from my perspective that should have been in there. I would like to hear your opinion on this value, and the others. Values are here: https://tramper.nz/16175/community-values/ Thanks, Matthew
I think the only bad part about them is the fact we have to have them in the first place but thats the modern way I guess. People didnt need to be reminded of the correct way to do things in the past but now so often they do.
