Have done this tramp twice, as it's a great hike to do when introducing anyone new to multi-day tramping. Both times we travelled up the Rees and down the Dart, with a side trip to Cascade Saddle. On both occasions, adverse weather obscured any view we may have had from the saddle. Huts were crowded (unsurprising, given the Christmas break) but we managed to score bunks each of the four nights. | |
