You gotta go past the bluffs to the south end of the lake. There's some flats there to pitch with the feeder stream for water. Can get pretty exposed.

its pretty selfish and ignorant to use one around other people in a conservation park... they are highly irritating to be around when you're in a park... the noise, the intrusion to nature

DoC, bless them, have rebenched the track around that hole so it is now back to easy though there are some slightly exposed bits there that might be intimidating to folks new to tramping. Still ...
