Hi there! I'm Andy from Germany and I've been to NZ a couple of times and will go there again soon (doesn't matter when you read this, I will go there SOON!!). I've done lots of tracks, mainly on the South island. Long distance hiking is my preference and next will be a walk fron Arthurs Pass to Mount Cook and on to Haast pass. I've been tramping in the Nelson Lakes area, Mt Aspiring, Arthur's Pass area, have done most of the Great walks (and NO, the Milford is NOT the most beautiful walk on earth!) in winter when you can afford them and done some less known tracks as well. The huts are just a great thing compared to the huts we have in the European Alps where the little huts or bivys are rare. Looking forward to some recommendations of less known walks! best regards Andy
