Lower Arahura hut (new)

This hut was merged with the hut, Lower Arahura hut, 12 December 201012 December 2010.

A new hut built in 2010 replacing the old NZFS hut that was 30m to the West. The old hut has been dismantled and re-erected above the bushline on the main ridge to Mt Brown by the Kokatahi Tramping Group.

Getting there
 Up the TR of the Arahura initially. Thru the 1st gate on the right after crossing the Milltown Road Bridge. Start walking from there or 4X4 to a parking area below the Cess Pool swingbridge. Cross the swingbridge to the TL bank and follow a well marked track up river to the hut.(<2.5hrs from Council Road)
