Wills Hut
Wills Hut (4 bunk, Stove, river water) is a standard four bunk forestry style hut on tussock flats in the Wills Valley. The hut is in good condition, and kept warm by a good Oregon woodburning stove, which also has hotplates for cooking.
The hut is in the first catchment west of the main divide off the Haast Pass road. The Wills Pass gives a good route into Fergusson Creek and thence the Hunter Valley. The pass into Long Flat Creek is also reasonable. Both of these passes are unmarked routes and as such the usual caveats apply.
The easiest access to the Hunter is the low Wilson pass 7km upriver at the head of the valley.
