Upper Matakuhia Hut
Waipunga Forest
A more rustic hut, recently sporting a new paint job and a log fire placed where the old open fire used to be. Located in a sunny clearing. Takes about 2-3 hours to get to on a reasonable track. The track further down the valley is rough and overgrown and it takes about 5 hours to get to the Lower Matakuhia Hut
