Fiery Col in fine weather

A little way past the stream which drains Fohn lake above, on the Olivine ledge is a rock bivvy. Sleeps two comfortably but you might sqeeze a third in. Definitely not the place you want to be if the earth ...   More ▶︎

At about 1100m alt. on the five passes walk - Olivine ledge - this bivvy could sleep three. It would be possible to cover all the walk using bivvy sites such as this but they aren't always dry.   More ▶︎

Several hundred metres below the Olivine ledge on the river. A little downstream of the confluence with Sunset Ck. That confluence would only just be out of sight here. March 2011   More ▶︎

Approaching Fiery Col from the Olivine Ledge, there is a small but distinct menhir off to the right - Penguin Rock would be an appropriate name, I reckon. Photo Feb 2013   More ▶︎
