Middle reaches of the North Ohau River just below the hut. The river runs into the gorge where it dissapears in photo. Some good pools but fairly easy to negotiate unless water levels are up. Deception Ridge starts at the Ohau - North Ohau forks and is an alternative route to the Mangahao river (route only not marked)
