This biv is perched near the crest of the Newton Range. This range seperates the Arahura River to the north from the Styx River to the south. The biv is sheltered from the west by a bump but commands great views to the east along the Newton Range. Short walks in north or south from the biv to the edges of the ridge crest give great views of the Arahura and Styx catchments.
