No snow in March 2010 on the south facing slopes to the north of Lochnagar. Taken from the col between Pk.1859 and Pk.1896 This lake at appx 1200m alt. was formed by a huge rock slip and is over 100m deep. This shows Michael after ascending from the Pine Ck Basin and getting our first glimpse of the lake. Winds at appx 30kph. Multi day route from Rees valley to Shotover and West Matukituki.
