| dodgernz | 15 Nov 2011 | Nice old Forest Service hut on the river. Plenty of good spots for a tent or fly. Lots of river crossings from Kuripapango but generally ok in low flows. Escape route if river is up is straight up and very steep, provides access to both Kiwi Mouth and Kiwi Saddle huts. The river has a large catchment area so if going to Kiwi Mouth hut via river, make sure you check the river isn't rising. |
