Really enjoyed this one, boots off to cross the creek at the start. Dry the rest of the way. Its a hard walk straight up all the way to the hut. Took us approx 3hours to reach the hut. No view until you emerge from the tree line, then its nothing but views the rest of the way. Something to see in every direction. From the hut it was another 2 hours to the summit of Mt Armstrong, but there are no longer markers so its a lot of guess work. The hut sleeps 12, there were 11 staying in the hut on the night we were there, with another 4 tents pitched outside. Took 2 hours to make the descent down the following day. | |
