23 Nov 2013 | This was a better hut when it had an open fire inside. I think that it's removal was poorly thought out. It is now much less comfortable in the winter and people are lighting fires outside which creates a fire hazard during the drier months. This is happening despite a sign saying "no open fires." There is adequate fuel for fires in the vicinity of the hut without needing to cut green vegetation so I don't know why the inside open fire was removed. IMO this hut is now more likely to be burnt down due to a vegetation fire than it ever was from the inside open fire. [rant from a former warranted rural fire officer] | |
