cherrycola	26 Jan 2013	Decided to walk this one on a long weekend so we would have Monday to recover as its the first decent tramp we have done for a long time. Glad we did as the track is in pretty bad state of repair - lots of trees down, including a lot that had markers on them so we found ourselves climbing under and over debris often and having to stop many times to figure out where the track actually went! At the top near the intersection to Cashmores Clearing we lost the track completely and ended up bashing through the bush for quite awhile before climbing back out onto the track and making it to the hut. A few big climbs on the way in from Wairoa Stream side and mostly downhill with a few steep descents on the way out.
