Took us five hours from Greenstone Carpark to Upper Caples Hut. The track up to McKellar saddle has been upgraded and took us 2-2.5 hours. | |

We did the Caples after the Routeburn to make it nearly circular. Enjoyed it as we had much better weather than the Routeburn and it was far quieter too. | |
