Tramping trip with the CTC. Ended up walking up to the next point and then proceeding to spend the next 2 1/2 hours bush bashing down to Hawdons River. | |

A decent steep ascent up through beech forest into the alpine zone - marvellous plant life. Saw long-tailed cuckoos for the first time. Great views up to Walker Pass and Hawdon Valley. (With Rangiora Tramping Club) | |
