There is a serious slip on the Haast-Paringa Cattle Track between the junction with Mica Mine Tops Track and Maori Saddle Hut. The slip is on the bank of a creek crossing.

Getting past the slip involves climbing about 6 m down the riverbank into a fast-flowing stream. This should only be attempted by experienced trampers. Extreme caution is advised. Check the weather forecast before you go.
