Wilding pine control for Molesworth
Aerial Foliar Spray Application (boom spraying) of wilding conifers is scheduled to be carried out along the Clarence and Alma Rivers within the Molesworth Recreation Reserve from Friday 10 February to Tuesday 28 February 2023. The attached maps show the location of herbicide application: Blue polygons on these maps indicate where spraying will occur while the larger black polygons are indicative of where some further small areas of dense infestations may be treated. An aerial basal bark application programme is underway in the Molesworth, using a combination of aerial and ground methods. It will run until May 2023. The work will be weather dependent, with crews coming and going as weather windows allow. There will be signage in huts and on gates so visitors know helicopters and ground crews are working in the area. Ground control work has commenced in Maukuratawhai, Alma Tarndale and Saxton and will continue until May 2023. First published on 20 December 2022. Last reviewed on 9 February 2023. |
