Crossing Dart Ford on Wangapeka River Road
The Dart Ford is open but extreme caution is required when crossing due to the temporary nature of the roadworks. A 4WD vehicle is essential. Visitors must stop and assess the condition of the ford before attempting to cross. For more information on the road condition see Tasman District Council website. This affects access to the Wangapeka Track, Courthouse Flat, Siberia Campsite and the northern access to Mt Owen via Granity Pass Hut. From the Dart Ford to Prices Clearing (where there is an information kiosk and intentions book) is 7 km. Prices Clearing to Rolling River carpark (Wangapeka Track eastern entrance) is a further 1 km.
