Upper Whirinaki Track hazards
The Upper Whirinaki track from Upper Whirinaki Hut towards Upper Te Hoe Hut may have fewer track markers present. There are fallen trees on this section of track that are easy to get through.
The track is generally benched and well-formed however, vegetation is likely to be heavily overgrown making it difficult to see track markers.
Make sure you are well-equipped and have at least two forms of navigation, for example, NZ Topo map and GPS compass before doing this section.
